Last month, it was announced that the legendary (at least to people over 35) Blondie were going to cover Beirut on their new LP, Panic of Girls. That cover has hit the Internet today, and it's just as terrible/fucking crazy/awful/weird as you could have imagined. Blondie take the original (below for comparison) and turn it into a slow-ass reggae jam that would be inadvisable for a band of any stature, nonetheless one of the leading lights of the CBGBs set. But I guess no one thought this would turn out great anyway, so file this under "Exactly as dumb as it sounded."
Panic of Girls is due out in September.
