Blonde Redhead: "My Plants Are Dead" (GAMES RMX)
In the midst of recording their debut full length, the soon to be renamed Games found time to do a remix of Blonde Redhead's Penny Sparkle standout "My Plants Are Dead." Games bury Kazu Makino's vocals (basically the only element remaining from the original) under shimmering synthesizer sweeps, squelching bass lines and a loudly mixed drum machine. This "remix" is really more of a Games song than a Blonde Redhead one, with the original serving as merely a starting point for the duo's retro synth fetishism.
