Blonde Redhead: "Here Sometimes" (Becoming Real Remix)

The idea of a producer hiding behind weird press shots, masks, and whatever else might seem like a cheap way to gain attention through creating an air of "mystery." But in most cases, it really just seems like a way for them to let the music speak for itself. At least, that's what I get from U.K.-based producers like Zomby, SBTRKT, and Becoming Real, the last of whom just released this slick remix of Blonde Redhead's "Here Sometimes." As it appears on Penny Sparkle, the track is a layered, dreamy, and synth-heavy affair. For his remix, Becoming Real has all but completely thrown away dreaminess of "Here Sometimes." In its place, he has injected icy synthesizers and sporadic drums, which thrust the remix into a huge finale.
