Bloc Party’s Intimacy Remixed is released this week in the U.K., and the band has released an official video of the Villains remix of “Ares” to promote the record. The clip was shot over two nights at the enormous London Olympia venue, where the band encouraged fans to shoot cell phone footage for inclusion in this video.

Despite the low quality, the idea works surprisingly well, with headache-inducing fast cutting making up for any lapses in shooting technique. The song itself has been turned into a euphoric techno stomper, similar to the Prodigy or the Chemical Brothers, but not really coming close to either of those band's greatest works.
