Blessure Grave: "Wasted Time"
San Diego death-rockers Blessure Grave rise out of the lo-fi murk of their previous releases with "Wasted Time," the first song revealed from their still-in-progress new album. Despite being unmastered, it sounds cleaner than the songs found on their debut, Judged by Twelve, Carried By Six, which definitely works to the duo's benefit. Over a steady acoustic pulse and chunky bass that slides from part to part in a sinister manner, T. Grave spreads his doom and gloom with a tasteful amount of reverb applied to his voice. The song highlights a lot more of the neo-folk and Death In June elements of the band up until the ripping guitar parts at the end, which send things spiraling back into darker territory.
