Black Star: Untitled Track (Snippet) prod. Madlib
Stones Throw producer/DJ J Rocc stopped by Benji B's BBC Radio 1 show the other night for a set full of new tracks, most of which were meant to promote his forthcoming album. Then, suddenly, Rocc exclaimed that he had an exclusive Black Star track -- yes, that Black Star, aka Mos Def and Talib Kweli -- produced by Madlib. Of course, the 'net was going nuts and someone ripped the song. We don't have a title for the track and it's unfortunately just a snippet, but Mos absolutely rips it on the horn stab-laden beat. Please, rap gods, let this be a sign that there is another Black Star album on the way or, at least, that Mos has a follow-up to The Ecstatic dropping soon.

Every time J Rocc plays an exclusive it makes me insane with jealousy. It's like his job to let us know that projects we have long dreamed of do in fact exist but are well beyond our reach as mere listeners.
