Look, reader, I don't blame you if you're sick of everyone gushing over Black Milk's recently released Album of the Year. You probably already saw fellow Prefixer Craig Jenkins' review along with a few of the posts commending leaks from the record. But hey, you can't blame us for digging what's likely to be the year's finest hip-hop album.
On top of that, it's looking like Black Milk is delivering some of killer performances to promote Album of the Year, too, such as his stop last month at Portland's The Fix. The Detroit rapper-producer gave the crowd a sneak peak at track "Welcome (Gotta Go)," one of the album's first singles. He's joined by a live band -- vocalist/keyboardist Ab and drummer Daru Jones -- while Bill Sharp held it down on the turntables. It makes for an invigorating take on the somewhat somber album cut and provides more proof that Black Milk is ready to get to the next level.
