If you read fellow Prefix writer Andrew Winistorfer's wrap-ups of SXSW, then you already know that Detroit's Black Milk was one the festival's highlights. But if you weren't there -- like me, ugh -- then you don't really have much to go by except for the fact that he played with a live band and was absolutely great. Luckily for us, though, Cam Be was in attendance to get the above footage of Black Milk's set at Suite 101. His voice remains a bit too deep at times in a live setting, which causes certain bars to be unintelligible. But for the most part, Black Milk and his band sound fantastic as they move from one Album of the Year track to the next. I was hoping that we would see guest appearances during "Black & Brown" and "Deadly Medley," but his verses and band were probably so good that most people didn't even notice.
