Black Milk: "Give The Drummer Sum" (Live In Studio) (Video)

Black Milk is the latest artist to roll through the Yours Truly headquarters in San Francisco for a live performance. With his live band in tow, the rapper-producer chose to deliver a slightly amended take on Tronic's "Give the Drummer Sum." He's without the horns here that made the track so punchy on the album. It's still just as effective without the brass, though, mostly because of Daru Jones's absurdly tight drumming. The rest of the band deserves credit, too, of course, as they follow the lead of Black Milk, who casually spits his verses while directing the band. I'm hoping this isn't the only track they performed in the studio and that we see some footage soon of tunes from Album of the Year.
