The Black Lips are one of the most riotously entertaining bands you’ll ever see, and they have a fondness for showing up in some far-flung reaches of the globe. Last year they undertook an already infamous tour of India, in which they were signed up to appear in the country’s equivalent of American Idol and ended up returning home early after their wild antics proved less than palatable to the locals.

Now VBS.TV has a four-part documentary on the Black Lips’ time in India, and as you’d expect, it’s a hair-raising journey. The various clips include footage of them scoring some hash in Mumbai, playing their first show in the country and riding on the most comfortable train in India.

It gets really wild in the fourth clip (above), in which they turn up in Chennai, make out with each other on stage, moon the audience and get an overwhelmingly positive reaction from fans. The band members are clearly on a big high until the words “we gotta get out of here before we get arrested” are uttered.
