It’s almost been a year since Black Kids released their debut album, Partie Traumatic, to a decidedly mixed response. The band has met with a warmer reception abroad, winning over a particularly large audience in the U.K., where the album shot to number 5 on the album charts.
Their most recent activity includes some shows as part of the Big Day Out festival in New Zealand and Australia, and they’re still trying to squeeze a few more sales out of Partie Traumatic, performing “Look at Me (When I Rock Wichoo)” and “I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance” on Carson Daly last week (May 7).
I was expecting the worst with these clips, but they're not that bad, which leads me to believe they've either improved their live show over the course of a year or they're better off being enjoyed in tiny spurts. I've seen them live before and I was ready to leave after 15 minutes, so I'm a little surprised here.
