Black Eyed Peas: "I Gotta Feeling" (Live on Letterman) (Video)

· by

Black Eyed Peas were on Letterman last night to promote their released yesterday The E.N.D., playing "I Gotta Feeling," their latest vacuous pop hit. I don't think the song would be so annoying if it wasn't written so that it could be easily sliced up to score a Bacardi commercial. But it is written like it was made for a Bacardi commercial. The performance was sort of awkward, as the two dudes not named Fergie and will.i.am try to jockey for stage time in the front, when it's painfully clear they haven't been needed since, like, oh, 2001.

The part where will.i.am says "la haim" is a great day in black Jewish history (Sammy Davis Jr. R.I.P.), and is pretty hilarious. At some point, will.i.am was in the studio, and he thought, "You know, I need a few words here, and I'll go with la haim. That would be fantastic, especially if I do it through the Auto-Tune." And someone else said, "Mr. .am that would be fantastic." And then they laughed and laughed and laughed all the way to the bank.

The E.N.D. is out now.
