Black Eyed Peas: "Boom Boom Pow" and "Let's Get It Started" (Live on Jimmy Kimmel) (Video)

· by

Black Eyed Peas brought their really dumb new single, "Boom Boom Pow," to Jimmy Kimmel last night, performing in their supposedly futuristic new clothes and with dancers who totally ripped off their aesthetic from those black and white aliens on Futurama (I can't find a link). Their performance also featured some of the lamest choreography ever, since they spent a considerable amount of time trying to look like a live album cover. If this wasn't the number one song in the country, maybe this wouldn't be so disheartening. But there are some LULZ at the 1:20 mark when the crowd gets dead silent for the two people in the group not named Fergie or will.i.am, and then get crazy when Fergie comes back on.

The group also did an all shouts version of "Let's Get It Started" to close the show, which got more applause from the crowd than the band's current single. Here's that abomination:

You seem to be thinking of those aliens appear in "Raging Bender" and "A Leela of Her Own", but technically, those aliens are actually references to those in Star Trek:

In addition, the one in "Raging Bender" is just an Amphibiosan painted black and white. His statement about "Smizmars" is evident of this.

Thanks dude. Geeks will inherit the Earth.

"Abomination" for you... well fortunately yo think what you want, but I absolutely disagree with you when you say the crowd gets dead silent... They have just released Boom Boom Pow and now they're doing it in live, maybe that's not the best thing they've ever done, but they know how to rock the party. Else, they would have no fan.

But that's my point of wiew.
Also, I don't know if you seem not to like them because you've never loved them, or just because they've recently changed their music orientation. Anyway, they still know how to make the music they used to, but this time it may look "too electro" or "too material" to a lot of people... actually, that's not so bad because staying in Old School mode would not be a better thing... Some people hated them at the time of Monkey Business or even Elephunk. However they've rocked with that.

Peas.

Kimmo

No, they've been unequivocally terrible their entire run.
