Bishop Allen's upcoming album may be titled Grr..., but new song "Oklahoma" sounds more like a playful bark than a growl. And watching Justin Rice bounce around the stage in this clip from Chicago does little to give the track's playful melody any bite. Not that the tune needs it. The speedy but undeniably infectious song sounds like a continuation of the band's last album, in a good way. The tight melody recalls the band's excellent "Rain," but it seems to lean a little more on Rice's acoustic, giving it a more stripped down feel that might make you hope that Grr... takes a few queues from the band's live sound. And lines like "you've got eyes like Oklahoma" are certainly charming, even if you're not sure what they mean. Grr... is out March 10 on Dead Oceans. [You Ain't No Picasso]
