Big Boi: "You Ain't No DJ" f. Yelawolf (Video)

· by

We all know by this point that Big Boi's Sir Lucious Left Food: The Son of Chico Dusty is far and away the best mainstream hip-hop album of 2010. Hell, it's one of the best albums of the year, period. Additionally, fellow Prefix writer Craig Jenkins did a fine job in his review of backing up just why he and the rest of us feel that way. And it's tracks such as this that further drive that point home.

"You Ain't No DJ" stands as Big Boi's diss to all the phony record spinners out there. And it might be one of the more poignant tracks of its kind in recent years as the term DJ has become so loosely used. Beyond that, though, "You Ain't No DJ" features he and Yelawolf absolutely destroying Andre 3000's hectic, neck-breaking production. I have a feeling that those of you not familiar with Yela will be checking for his music after seeing this video. He doesn't necessarily steal the spotlight from Big Boi, but you'll understand why he has so much hype surrounding him after watching this, even if most of his lines are ruined by the censorship here.

Sir Lucious Left Foot is in stores now.

I never bought Yelawolf's hype until this. Dude is the real deal.

I can understand that. Hell, I got into his music kinda late. But yeah, this is definitely one of my favorite two tracks on the LP.

It took me a bit to get used to his voice but he's the real deal. that trunk muzik mixtape was great. it's great that someone made a song like this. like andrew said, it's been a while.
