Big Boi: "Tangerine" f. T.I.
Even though it looked like Big Boi's solo debut would never actually come out, we're not only a week away from Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty's release. And as is the case with any major hip-hop release these days, the closer you get to the album's release, the more leaks that hit the 'net. But for Big Boi, this one's at least somewhat official as "Tangerine" serves as another single off his LP.
It also serves as another chance for T.I. to display his rapping chops since returning to the game just a few months ago. And, well, he and Big Boi essentially rip this track apart, except for the derivative hook. For the rest of "Tangerine," though, these two top-tier Southern MCs are spot-on. Their bouncy rhyme schemes perfectly complement the guitar-driven production from Knightheat, whose grimy beat really pulls it all together.
