Best Coast, who for all intents and purposes can be described as a female Wavves (California lo-fi pop, but presumably without so many drugs), made a splash on the blog circuit a couple months back with "Sun Was High (So Was I)." Now she's back with "Something in the Way You Say My Name," which sounds like a one-woman '50s girl group recorded through a four-track. The doo-wop influence separates her aesthetic a bit from Wavves's punk rawk, so hopefully it will become more and more unfair to make that comparison as she continues to post songs to her MySpace.
