Bernard Sumner, Hot Chip, Hot City: "Didn't Know What Love Was" (Video)

· by

Early last month, we revealed the latest Converse-related artist collaboration, which brought together Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard, New Order's Bernard Sumner, and dance duo Hot City. We also told you that the video for the track was set to debut on Nov. 2. Well, that date came and went, but the 16-day wait was worth it. By now, if a video has anything to do with Hot Chip, it's almost guaranteed to be great, and the clip for "Didn't Know What Love Was" continues the fine tradition. Directed by the always reliable Andreas Nilsson (who has also helmed videos for Fever Ray and MGMT), here is a brief rundown of some of the things you will see in this video: groups of Taylor/Goddard doppelgangers, drum circles in the woods, rapidly changing outfits, living shadows, monkeys, and notably, a cameo from Joy Division/New Order drummer Stephen Morris.

"Didn't Know What Love Was" is still available as a free download over at Converse's website.
