Beirut have stopped acting like their music sounds "current" or whatever: In the video for "Vagabond," the new single from The Rip Tide, we see a black-and-white clip of army dudes partying it up like it's 1942, and our boys are giving Hitler what for. Which suits the song perfectly of course; a video of kids skateboarding might not have worked here. A group of 1940s people living it up? Perfect. The sight gags of watching a nurse smoke three cigarettes at once is totally worth it.
The Ript Tide is out now.
