Zach Condon has taken Beirut to a greater level of success than ever before with his new album The Rip Tide. He hasn’t messed with the sound of the band too much on that new release, with familiar elements such as parping trumpets and his delicate songwriting skills still firmly intact. Condon brought the group to NPR this week to perform a short set in the “Tiny Desk Concert” series for All Songs Considered, with “East Harlem” and the fantastically named traditional song “Serbian Cook” both included.
