The video for Beirut's Mexican-tinged "Concubine" is something of an origin story for this new Mexico-influenced Zach Condon. A young version of Condon walks around the desert and an older version walks the streets of Hollywood and talks with celebrity impersonators. I'm not sure what it has to do with the song, but it's a visually appealing clip, even if at the part where Condon was standing near the aqueducts, I was waiting for Schwarzenegger to drive a semi off a bridge.
Beirut's March of the Zapotec EP is out now. [Pitchfork]
