With the above squiggly take of "Swept Away," Beck, Thurston Moore and Tortoise's album-length cover of Yanni's Live at the Acropolis gets one song away from completion/merciful end. Beck hasn't announced a new Record Club project as of yet, but this one might make the case for shutting it down; this one has been like listening to a bunch of talented dudes fuck around on instruments for four minutes without much positive elements to recommend them. That continues here. It was an ambitious idea--covering Yanni specifically--that was cooler in idea than practice.
