Beck: "Acroyali/Standing In Motion" f. Thurston Moore & Tortoise (Yanni Cover) (Video)

Beck, Tortoise and Thurston Moore's cover of Yanni's Live at the Acropolis, from the jump, has been easily the weirdest Record Club project, but it's hard to tell how much of the nuttiness is from Yanni. I mean, that dude's music is pretty wacky to begin with (in that teeth-pulling, trapped in an elevator as it plummets to its doom kind of way), so any attempt to cover him will probably turn out at least sort of similar to the above video of "Acroyali/Standing in Motion." At least this video has some pretty cool Thurston Moore fooling with a guitar footage, because otherwise there's not a whole lot of good stuff happening here. It turns out that cover of INXS' Kick might be as good as this idea gets.
