Rioux goes the remix route for the third weekly drop from his upcoming five-song EP, RE: You. Two weeks from today, the electronic artist will have fully released the work. From "Unison" to "RIP" to "Party Monster," a rework of fellow Brookyln musicians Beast Make Bomb, Rioux's tracks have become more straightforward. The pattern of these releases, even, seems to have put the song titles on a path to conveying less abstract connotations.
Anyway, "Party Monster"--a song that follows one asshole's search, through lower and lower heights, for the wildest party--sees Rioux somewhat subdue the Beast. While this track is a more explicit banger than his first two, the vocals are completely soaked in echo, marking a stark contrast from the original's unaffected singing. Its bassy, downtempo vibe is in itself contrasted and balanced nicely by some higher-end twists that sparkle against the cruising drums.
