“Used to Be” is the A-side on Beach House’s debut seven-inch single, but the track sounds like it’s a missing piece from their excellent new album Devotion. The song uses distorted guitars and sanguine organ lines as smoky accompaniments to lead singe Victoria Legrand’s tender vocals, much like the bulk of Devotion.
The “Used to Be” seven-inch is due out one October 21 via Carpark. [Pitchfork]
