Much of Beach House's music has a whirling, swirling quality to it, what with Alex Scally's languidly stretched-out guitar arpeggios and programmed percussion that trips around in a modified waltz time. So it's fitting that many things in this video for the duo's gorgeous "Heart of Chambers" twirl about: a chandelier, a centrifuge with different Polaroid snapshots on it, other odd gadgetry. Scally and bandmate Victoria Legrand (whose brother Alistair directed the clip) roll around damp, dusky streets, Legrand pushing Scally in a shopping cart, both seemingly looking for somethiing. I'm guessing for Legrand it's a bigger piano to play (she sure looks uncomfortably hunched over the one she's got), and for Scally it's an actual cat.
