Bat for Lashes ups the eerie factor even higher with this track from her upcoming sophomore album, Two Suns. "The Big Sleep" is a haunting duet with Scott Walker, supplied only with a bare bone backdrop of a piano and brief appearances by a bass and synthesizer. The minimalism leaves room to focus on the terrific vocal performances, where both Walker and Natasha Khan sound like they've seen Death face-to-face and are in therapy trying to recover from the experience. Khan's upper register is truly something beautiful, but the effect it has here is down right chilling.
"The Big Sleep" f. Scott Walker
Two Sons will be released April 6 on Astralwerks. [Stereogum]
"Daniel" is another track off Two Sons:
This album is shaping up to be remarkably better than Fur & Gold, which I didn't care for that much. "Daniel" sounds so much like Kate Bush. haha
Hey, the album is spelled wrongly. It's "Two Suns", not "Two Sons".

Fixed now. Thanks!
