For reasons probably related to cross-promotion, brand-building, etc., the video for Band of Horses' "Dilly" is playing exclusively on movie database IMDB right here, right now. The clip follows a motorcycle gang as they gallivant across the southwest, dancing in bars and dancing for cops. Basically, it's just like the eventual Sons of Anarchy musical but with a worse soundtrack.
Infinite Arms is out now.
I don't understand what IMDB and Band of Horses were thinking here. Why did IMDB pay for the band to release their video exclusively to them? Why did BoH decided IMDB was the best place to debut their video? I don't get it.
I don't know if IMDB paid to get the premiere. They're a pretty big site so maybe BoH did it for the eyeballs. It is a bit of a strange fit though.
