When T.I.‘s eighth album, Trouble Man, hits stores on Dec. 18, don’t be surprised if it becomes a troublemaker on the charts. Having spawned several stellar singles (“I’m Flexin'” featuring Big K.R.I.T., “Love This Life,” “Go Get It”) thus far, the Grand Hustle head today debuts one of his most anticipated album cuts with the Lil Wayne-assisted “Ball.”
Providing a dose of nostalgia for long-time Southern hip-hop fans, the track is bona fide Bounce—a genre of rap popularized in the ’90s by New Orleans acts such as Soulja Slim, Magnolia Shorty and Weezy’s old Cash Money clique, Hot Boyz. In fact, the Tip’s guest even channels that speedy flow and high pitch of old (however, he still sounds like a coked-out alien).
You can stream and purchase “Ball” below. The accompanying music video is expected to debut Oct. 22.
