The man that time forgot—Damon Gough, aka Badly Drawn Boy—is on the comeback trail, with a new album loftily titled I’m What I’m Thinking Pt. 1: Photographing Snowflakes due for release on Oct. 4. This video for “Too Many Miracles” offers a glimpse of the psychedelic pop direction of the album.
This is one of those clips where the visual trickery threatens to eclipse the song, with Gough playing a tree throughout, and (to his credit) managing to keep a straight face at the same time. It’s somewhat reminiscent of Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are, albeit on a much lower budget.
