It’s about damn time that LA’s “party-prog” fivesome Bad Dudes released some new material. Who else will lead the frothy hordes of Angeleno indie robots with a taste for the technical and the rump-shaking? The title track off Bad Dudes’ forthcoming second album Eat Drugs bops along with all the 8-bit rhythmic spunk and space-punk keyboards of their eponymous debut (2006), but it’s got a more streamlined structure befitting the populist sentiment at its core: “I wanna do drugs/But I’m afraid of drugs.” Stay tuned for a remix of the song by The Mae Shi. Eat Drugs emerges April 15th on Retard Disco, and as an added purchase incentive, the album features guests spots from members of L.A. favorites Ozma, Upsilon Acrux, Silver Daggers, and Epsilons.
