In crafting The Family Sign, the guys of Atmosphere set out to record their "most personal and intimate album yet." Judging by previous singles "Just for Show" and "She's Enough," I think we can all agree that Slug, the group's MC, has really put it all out there. Whereas those tracks were at least borderline lighthearted, Atmosphere's latest single, "The Last to Say," is a heavy turn. They released its poignant visuals, which were handled wonderfully by director Isaac Ravishankara, today in conjunction with MTV's ACT campaign that sets out to raise awareness about domestic violence. That issue drives the lyrical and visual content of "The Last to Say," which outlines a heart-wrenching tale of the long-lasting effects of domestic violence.
The Family Sign is out now on Rhymesayers.
