"Quick Canal," the second best track on Atlas Sound's great new album, Logos, just got a found imagery video, which is fitting, since much of Atlas Sound's work is built on found samples. In the clip, we watch a family do what families did back in the 1960s; barbecue, gather their cheap modern belongings, and demonstrate products. (That's how the '60s were, right?) Stereolab's Lætitia Sadier handles the vocals, but you'd never realize that, since she and Bradford Cox don't appear here at all.
Logos is out now. [Pitchfork]
Wonderful. I can't tell which is more soothing -- the song or the video.
This sounds a lot like a Stereolab song. She's more recognizable than he is in this one.
Is it weird that I'm a little obsessed with Brandon Cox?
^^^Kinda, but not really. He seems like a real interesting guy.
I think Cox's genius lies in the way he subtly manipulates a song's intensity. I dunno, that's my theory...and I'm sticking to it! Also, I saw David Lynch at a Deerhunter show once...so that was pretty cool.

I love his work. A wizard with the five-step drop.
