I'm willing to buy Asher Roth as a debauched, college-themed rapper, but I'm not sure he can pull off being menacing and dominating. "Silly Boy" the latest track from his upcoming debut Asleep in the Bread Aisle to surface has Roth talking down some guy who he hates (apparently). There are a few entertaining lines in the song (specifically when he talks about being compared to Eminem and says he's not a psychopath like Em), but mostly Roth tries to assert himself as a moderate tough guy when he's spent most of his tracks talking about how he loves college (seriously, his album's first single is called "I Love College").
"Silly Boy" is a moderate misstep, but as Roth says in the song, he is young and still learning. Asleep in the Bread Aisle is due out on April 7 via Universal. [NahRight]

I really liked The Greenhouse Effect mixtape, but this jam, along with I Love College, is straight up garbage.
