For almost any other rapper, I would be content simply hearing a project like Asher Roth and Nottz's Rawth EP. Not only was it free, but it featured Nottz delivering both some solid bars and great production. More importantly, though, the EP further cemented that Roth was moving away from gimmicky rap for something more traditional yet still wholly intriguing.
With that in mind, I can't help but ask, "Where does he go from here?" Does the above video for Rawth's frustrated hangover anthem, "Gotta Get Up," mean that he's going to stay in this lane? Or is this just all a big tease for another letdown like Asleep In The Bread Aisle? I guess we will have to wait and hear what he has in store on his sophomore record, The Spaghetti Tree.
