If you recall correctly, J-Live‘s S.P.T.A. (Said Person of That Ability) LP hit shelves on Sep. 27–the same day that J. Cole’s debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story, Evidence’s Cats & Dogs album, and Phonte’s first solo, Charity Starts at Home, all dropped.
Sure, it was a busy (not to mention a wallet-robbing) one, but that was no excuse not to peep the New York producer/MC’s fifth studio album. Almost a full calendar year has passed since its release, but Justice Allah refers to said project for some fresh visual output.
In the music video for the opener, “As I Start,” the long-time MC is seen reciting his rhymes in his home studio, headphones on, and in the company of a pretty impressive record collection. Much like the music itself, this clip is purely no frills.
