Robert Smith seems to be in the mood for doling out lessons recently. First, he's frowning upon Radiohead's let-the-fans-decide pricing policy, then he's lecturing NME readers on the right way to go about recording a cover version.

In fairness to him, the readers of said British music publication bestowed Godlike Genius status on The Cure earlier this week, so Smith probably feels in a position to pontificate, and the opening track of a CD of Cure covers is probably as good a place as any to wax lyrical on how to produce a decent cover version. 

I'm not sure how much attention Eddie Argos paid to the advice though. In covering "Catch" Art Brut seem to have taken a Cure song they liked and simply rerecorded it to sound exactly like an Art Brut song, even adding in bits of "Emily Kane" in case the similarity escaped us. Oh well, it still makes for fun listening.
