For me, Ariel Pink's music never sounded better in 2010 than when it was coming out of the house speaker at Madison's Frequency in a light smoke-machine fog before Zola Jesus played her last hometown show. This is pretty cool too: Pink plays with his band in front of a studio audience for Pitchfork TV, hitting the highs you'd expect: Above is "Round and Round" and below is "Fright Night." The band played more than this, which you can see at Pitchfork. This is sort of the perfect context for Pink. It even looks like it was recorded in the same haze that his music floats in.
