The Arctic Monkeys are already in full-on promo mode for their forthcoming Humbug album. They appeared at the washed-out All Points West festival on Friday (July 31) and indulged in a live webcast to promote the record last week. Humbug is due for release on August 24 on Domino.
The boys have been covering Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ “Red Right Hand” for a while now, and they delivered a version of the song in the webcast. Singer Alex Turner’s voice and the jaunty arrangement certainly takes the track in a different direction, giving it more of a whirring fairground feel than Cave’s southern gothic take.
