As promised last week, Arctic Monkeys' new single, "Crying Lightning," premiered in studio form on Zane Lowe's show on BBC Radio 1 yesterday. The song is, as the live takes suggested, darker than a lot of the Monkeys past work, and is led by a heavy, distorted bass line. It seems like the band is also maturing past their quick, post-punk blasts into songs that breathe and grow.
