Arctic Monkeys have teamed up with English comedian Richard Ayoade (who U.S. viewers may know from the excellent IT Crowd on the IFC) for this video for Humbug track “Cornerstone.” Ayoade directed the video and appears to be fixated on frontman Alex Turner, who is the only member of the band to appear.
The minimal clip features the singer in a red sweater and a pair of headphones and…well, that’s about it. In these hardened times, even a band as successful as the Arctic Monkeys must cut down on lavish big budget promos. So, here it is: Alex Turner, a tape recorder, and a microphone. What else could you want?
