Arcade Fire: "Ready To Start" (Live On The Brits) (Video)

The dust had barely settled on the Grammys when half the acts who appeared there were shoehorned onto planes and whipped off to England, where the annual Brit Awards took place last night (Feb. 15). Arcade Fire were one of those performers, and they showed no sign of jet lag during this ebullient performance of “Ready to Start.” The group picked up two Brits, one for International Album (presented, for some strange reason, by tennis legend Boris Becker) and another for International Group. NME reports that Win Butler told viewers to “check it out on Google” in reference to The Suburbs—presumably a nod to illegal downloaders—and he also thanked New Order, David Bowie, Culture Club, the Clash, Depeche Mode and the Smiths for inspiring them.
