Arbouretum's third album, Song of the Pearl, replaces the guitar heroics of leader Dave Heumann, and replaces them with jam band-like sonic meditations. It makes sense, then, that the video for "Down by the Fall Line" is moderately ponderous -- shots of trees, water rippling, clouds, and other natural curios form the video. There are some guitar fireworks near the end, but mostly the song just moves along at its languid pace as unaffected as the trees.
Song of the Pearl is out now via Thrill Jockey. [Pitchfork]
