A.R. Rahman: "Jai Ho" ft. Pussycat Dolls (Video)

· by

You know what A.R. Rahman's "Jai Ho," the Best Song Oscar winner (it's in Slumdog Millionaire), didn't need? Verses from the Pussycat Dolls to make the track easier to play on American radio.

You know what else "Jai Ho" didn't need? A video that takes the movie's triumphant (and pretty corny) closing scene and replaces it with the fembots Pussycat Dolls writhing in Indian clothing and mugging for a camera, desperately trying to hold on to their slipping grasp of the American music marketplace in a time when it's becoming apparent that even blatant sex selling can't move records anymore, and shamefully attempting to hitch their carts to a genuine success in an effort to not have to go back to writhing on a stage in front of Jeremy Piven and his cronies.

You know what else "Jai Ho" didn't need? The change of the credit of the song from A.R. Rahman featuring the Pussycat Dolls to the Pussycat Dolls featuring A.R. Rahman (as it is being listed everywhere), because it makes it seem like Pussycat Dolls had something to do with this song's creation, and they did not. To right at least one wrong, I'm going with the former.

Oh yes!! I totally and utterly agree with you!! Man they piss me off, they seem to think that adding slutty american dancers will somehow make the song more popular..it definately didnt need them, the song was awesome by itself!
