Trail of Dead brought their beefy riffs to Jimmy Fallon’s show on Monday night (Feb. 7), where they performed “Weight of the Sun” from the recently released Tao of the Dead. This is a noisy rock tune that threatens to bubble over into chaos but always manages to be pulled back from the brink by the band—in other words, the kind of post-Sonic Youth influenced noise-punk that Trail of Dead has been solidly working on for over a decade now, and always sounds a lot more impressive in its live form that in does when committed to wax.
