Unbelievable. I thought it was amazing. Chris Cornells version or not

He has a wonderful voice and did a great job with the song. He has true potential. So what it's a cover of a cover, most of the other idols sang cover of covers.

Chris Cornell is a brilliant talent and he has NOTHING to worry about from David Cook.

WOW! What a marvelous, marvelous voice. My hair stood on ends as I listened to his angelic voice. With such passion he just allowed the music to speak to the heart of the audience.

I never in my wildest dream would have though that a contestant could touch me so deeply; but he did. What can I say; but only that I love his voice. 10 out of 10 is what I would give to his rendition of Billie Jean.

I was way more impressed BEFORE I knew this was a cover of Chris Cornell. I thought David Cook was an original who came up with this version on his own. Now I feel like he's just a poser. Next thing we'll hear is that his amazing rendition of Lionel Richie's Hello was a cover of a cover too!

Defenitly was impressed when I thought he retooled the song himself. He blows balls. I know a lot of good cover band singers that sound good too! covering other peoples stuff, means you can keep playing on the back of a FLAT BED, filling bar rooms. But not a new talent. If he won, he would only be able to sing an arrangement done by some one else.

That was an amazing performance! "Idol" has the contestants singing covers so what does that matter whose cover they sang. David's vocals were much stronger for the song than Chris Cornell's.......

Did Fox just re-write history?

I watched this show live last week with my girlfirend, and I can tell you that Ryan Seacrest did NOT give credit to Chris Cornell when he introduced David Cook. We are huge Cornell fans and any mention of his name would have definetly gotten our attention.

Honestly, because of David Cook this is the first time I've heard of Chris Cornell. And I'm sure a lot of people out there have never heard of Chris Cornell before. Ryan Seacrest did mention that this is the Chris Cornell version of Billie Jean. As humble as a great person as David Cook, He will not do anything to disrespect anyone. David Cook did a fantastic job with the song. It was truely amazing. Please if you're going to post bad comments....please don't bother. What do you get out of it? How can David Cook disgust anyone? Look at him... he doesn't look like a type of person that will make bad remarks about anyone. Love him..

some of you forget that these people on idol are people wanting to be famous. they all start out singing someone elses songs. it dosent matter that someone else did it first. david did it great & thats all that matters.
