Almighty Defenders: "Bow Down and Die" (MP3)

I suppose it was incredibly predictable that the first song to surface from the garage rock Voltron that is Almighty Defenders(the band features Black Lips and King Khan & BBQ Show) would make songs that are raucous and sloppy garage rock tunes. Because that's exactly what "Bow Down and Die" is; it's a shouty, bleary-eyed song where Black Lips' Cole Alexander asks repeatedly "does he hold on like I hold on" through increasingly loud demands. The only marginally surprising thing is that the song isn't a quick, wham bam thank you ma'am affair; it's actually a pretty slow tempo for these guys.  

The band's self-titled debut, which was recorded after the Lips fled to Berlin from India, is due out on September 22 via Vice. Here's the full track list:
