Alison Krauss brought her band Union Station and guitarist Gerry Douglas to Jay Leno’s show last night (April 25). “Lay My Burden Down” is taken from Krauss’s new album Paper Airplane, and it captures the resolutely downbeat tone of that record, which mixes in elements of country and bluegrass in Krauss’s inimitable style. “Lay My Burden Down” is a particularly effective platform for showing off her impressive vocals, which stay caught up in soft rumination for the duration of this performance.
