“Inside me there’s a sad machine/ want’s to stop moving” the fourth most famous Stroke bellows on the opening to this track from his forthcoming sophomore album Como Te Llama? (Four years of Spanish in high school, and the song’s press release, have taught me that the tile means “what’s your name?”)
The track finds Hammond mining the same sunny, yet sad, So-Cal 70’s pop that he did on his debut Yours to Keep, but overall it sounds more refined than anything off that album.
Como Te Llama? hits stores on July 8.
