Here's the new video for Active Child's (LA-based singer-harpist Pat Grossi) synth hymn "I'm In Your Church At Night," which, as far as I can tell, is an occult retelling of Pinocchio. It features disturbingly photoshop-faced pastry chefs, an indoor blizzard, black magic-like iconography, and Grossi and a lover as cakes come to life as statuesque humans.
It's all a bit reminiscent of Grizzly Bear's much discussed "Two Weeks" video. This makes sense, considering Active Child's excellent Curtis Lane EP, from which "Church at Night" is taken, marries the sparklingly moody electronics of New Order to Grizzly Bear's creepily refined choirboy sensibility.
Grossi is currently working on his follow up to Curtis Lane, due spring 2011 on Vagrant Records. He'll also be touring the UK next February. Check out the dates below.
